Do we need an Engagement Session?
Whether or not to have an engagement session is a question I receive from many couples. Chances are at least one of your friends posted their e-session on Instagram or Facebook recently so their friends could ooh and ah over dreamy poses and gorgeous get-ups showing off their love for each other.
Here’s the thing: it’s your wedding. Don’t let Social Media, or anyone else convince you cause there is no right or wrong answer, just what feels right for you! There are a few reasons I recommend an engagement session for all my couples – and it isn’t just because I’m a wedding and engagement photographer!
Why you might want an e-session:
- The most popular reason to have an e-session is to send save-the-dates! It’s a great way to capture your story and personalities, and get your friends psyched to spend your wedding day celebrating you!
- An e-session also gives you a chance to work with me and feel confident and awesome before your wedding day. I’ll help you feel more relaxed and at ease! As one of my grooms told me, you may even forget I’m there.
- Probably the most important reason, and one you’ll be thankful for is that you’ll have professional engagement photos at the beginning of your relationship. Think how great it would be to have engagement photos of your parents or grandparents – if you have them, lucky you to see them so young and in love! Your grandkids will love them one day.
