Last fall I documented Lorraine (Rain) & Jake’s Moorestown Community House Harry Potter Wedding, and they couldn’t have picked a more Hogwarts-like venue for their fantasy-inspired day! Jake proposed to Rain with a Harry Potter scavenger hunt, and their love of sci-fi and fantasy was apparent throughout their wedding from Lorraine’s custom Marauder’s Map Keds to Jake’s wedding ring “of power”.
Their family and friends got in on the fun by wearing Gryffindor robes, and Summit Catering added to the fun with a lightsaber-filled parade of desserts! I decided to create some special Harry Potter magic for Rain & Jake… check out their special Gryffindor Portrait at the end of this post!
Rain & Jake included plenty of fun throughout the day. They played the Imperial March for their wedding processional, honored their cats Muffin & Barb as “Maids of Paw-nor” (present in their hearts even if they couldn’t attend that day), and had karaoke during cocktail hour while “Rick Rolling” their guests. They even included a surprise laugh – during their ceremony Lorraine & Jake realized they forgot their rings! Their officiant – a personal friend – came to the rescue and ducked inside Moorestown Community House to fetch them to much laughter from the couple and their guests.
And that was my favorite part of their wedding – Lorraine & Jake’s infectious laughter, and the fact that both of them couldn’t stop grinning all day.
