They had me at “a fun, chill night”! That was the vibe that Chris & Anthony had in mind for their Porta Asbury Park wedding… a blending of Anthony’s big family from Western PA and Chris’ big Italian family from Staten Island NY.
As a wedding photographer of 8+ years, this wedding was just an absolute blast to document!

Chris & Anthony met how so many couples meet today…online. At the time they both lived near Asbury Park, so they decided to head there for their first date. Chris chose the spot… NOT his favorite restaurant, just in case things didn’t work out!
Half way through the evening, it was clear the couple had chemistry so they changed location to a favorite hangout instead. And engrossed in good conversation, they ended up closing the place down that night.

When planning their wedding, Anthony and Chris really had 2 goals in mind… First and foremost, they wanted “a fun, chill night, with great food, music, family and friends”.
Chris & Anthony both deeply value and cherish their families. And so they were excited to bring them together from Staten Island and Central PA, two very different places culturally. And what better place to do that than Asbury Park, NJ – a spot rich with its own vibrant culture, and that’s so special to the couple.

Asbury Park, NJ is located on the north Jersey shore about 1 hour outside of NYC and 90 minutes from Philadelphia. The town is home to the legendary Stone Pony, the venue which is said to have launched famous NJ musicians Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi.
As a beachside town, Asbury Park is a popular destination for weddings. What makes this town even more special are the many art murals displayed throughout the town and on the Asbury Park boardwalk. Many of these murals are curated by The Wooden Walls project.

Porta Asbury Park sits 1 block away from the Asbury Park Boardwalk, and 2 blocks from the famous Carousel Building. The restaurant and event space features rich, warm and eclectic decor and can seat up to 200 guests.
One of my favorite parts about photographing weddings at Porta in Asbury Park is that guests are served their famous pizza and Italian dishes family-style. And we photographers get to take a pizza home too (who me, food motivated? LOL). The team at Porta Asbury Park also do a phenomenal job!

One of my favorite parts of every couple’s journey with me is when they come in after their wedding – like Chris & Anthony did – for their Reveal Party. We sit down with champagne, and they see their images together for the first time in a beautiful slideshow. After that we create their heirloom wedding album and printed wall art together, so they will be able to walk by and remember their special day every day.
