CONGRATULATIONS!! You’re engaged and you can’t wait to share it with the world! An engagement session is a great way to document the beginning of your journey together and share your happy news with your friends and family! Many couples give a lot of thought to choosing an Engagement Session Location and choosing a spot that’s special to you like where you had your first date, or showcasing something you love doing together is a great idea. Here are some of the best engagement photo locations in New Jersey according to my couples!!
There are beautiful botanical gardens in NJ for engagement sessions, and timing’s key to making the most of these spots! Aim to have your session in April or May when trees and flowers are blooming, and book your session on a weekday to avoid the crowds. These gardens are some of the best engagement photo locations in NJ because they’re really stunning, which means they’re also popular so being flexible and scheduling your session on a Monday or Tuesday will make a huge difference in the outcome of your session!
Some of my couples’ favorite gardens are Sayen House & Gardens, The New Jersey Grounds for Sculpture and Historic Smithville Mansion.

Do you guys love nature? Maybe you want to include your fur baby in your engagement session! New Jersey’s called the Garden State for a reason and there are plenty of parks to explore. A few best engagement photo locations in the great outdoors are Washington Crossing State Park & Baldpate Mountain, Strawbridge Lake Park, Ramapo Valley Reservation and Batsto Village.
Are you guys the couple who finds themselves on the Parkway every Friday in the summertime? Then check out this list of favorite NJ shore engagement session spots! Spring Lake has it all – greenery and the beach all in one! And Asbury Park offers a super fun, chic artistic vibe.
Looking to share an ice cream cone with your hunny? Avon by The Sea might be the perfect spot for you. And if you’re craving beautiful dunes and golden sunsets without crowds, check out Island Beach State Park.
If you’re looking for something more unique, like sharing a cup of coffee then exploring a small town together, look no further than Princeton, Somerville, Moorestown or Bordentown for your engagement session!
