It was a gorgeous summer morning when I drove up for Krista & Greg’s Bishop Farmstead Wedding. It had been an unpredictable week weather-wise, and it was also the week that much of the North East was impacted by smoke from Canadian wildfires so we were prepared for anything! Thankfully it was a perfect day!
Nestled in Southhampton Township in the heart of South Jersey, Bishop Farmstead is a stunning and unique wedding venue that blends rustic charm with natural beauty. The grounds are surrounded by 12 acres of lush green fields and dotted with majestic trees, while the rustic red barn with its weathered wood beams adds a touch of old world romance.
The venue is also home to the Pinelands Preservation Alliance and houses its own Jersey Devil, which made a fun appearance during Krista & Greg’s getting ready prep! After a fun morning, Krista shared an emotional first look with her dad in the beautiful Bishop Farmstead gardens.
Krista & Greg’s journey started when Greg mustered up the courage to send Krista a message on Tinder. However, Krista unintentionally missed his first attempt at conversation. So six months later, Greg creatively reappeared, claiming that he “missed what they had” which immediately won Krista over!
Now, let’s fast forward to their unforgettable proposal! Thanksgiving holds a special place in Krista’s heart, as it’s a time for family, good food and plenty of laughter. Every year, she travels to North Carolina to reunite with her dad’s side of the family, creating cherished memories that fill the holiday season with warmth.
Greg, with his keen understanding of Krista’s love for Thanksgiving, decided to seize the moment. Amidst the beauty of a rented lake house, surrounded by nature’s tranquility, he chose this perfect time to ask the most important question of their lives.
Amidst the joyous celebration of Krista and Greg’s wedding day, it’s important to acknowledge the challenges they faced as a couple. During their journey together, Krista patiently stood by Greg’s side as he bravely served our country in the military in the Middle East for three years. This wedding day became not only a celebration of their love but also a testament to their unwavering dedication to one another.
I was particularly touched that Krista accessorized her beautiful Stella York lace gown with a necklace given to her by Greg many years ago, which she wears every day to remind her of his love.
As I spent time getting to know Krista and Greg, it became evident that their love blossoms from a deep appreciation of each other’s unique qualities. Krista adores Greg’s remarkable ability to effortlessly connect with people, making friends wherever he goes. His warm and outgoing nature has a way of coaxing her out of her shell, allowing her true self to shine brightly.
And what does Greg adore about Krista? He revels in her infectious sense of humor, describing it as “goofy in the best possible way”. They share laughter that knows no bounds and embrace life’s adventures with open hearts.
After their beautiful ceremony & portraits with their wedding party and family, Krista and Greg joined their guests in the rustic red vintage barn for a scrumptious dinner catered by Jeffrey A. Miller Catering. But the night was young, and the couple and their guests took full advantage of the acres of property to enjoy the mild evening by the fire pit, and get down to the beats of Sugar Bomb Entertainment. Heck, I was even pulled onto the dance floor a few times (y’all know I love to dance!!).
It was I night I’ll always remember!
