Some stories begin with a glance across a crowded room. Alicia and Justin’s began with a dating app, a clown, and what I can only imagine was the best opening line in Hinge history. Justin spotted something on Alicia’s profile — a deep, unwavering terror of clowns — and instead of swiping past it, he leaned in. “I told her I had a pretty good story about a clown if she’d care to hear it.” And just like that, their love story was born. Honestly? I’ve heard a lot of “how we met” stories over the years, and that one might be my favorites.
From that first conversation to a wedding day surrounded by family who flew in from all over the country, Alicia and Justin are exactly the kind of couple who remind me why I love this work. They’re fun, they’re real, and they are so deeply rooted in the people they love. Getting to be their photographer at The Bradford Estate was such a gift!

I have to tell you about this proposal, because it is genuinely one of the best stories I’ve ever heard.
Justin tried everything. First, there was a puzzle box with a voucher inside for a full day of whatever Alicia wanted — a perfect day that would end with him down on one knee. Except Alicia couldn’t quite decide what she wanted to do or when. Plan A, out the window. Then came the roses on the steps, sweet notes, thoughtful gifts — a whole production. Except Alicia had a rough day, and the vibe just wasn’t there. Plan B, gone.
So Justin pivoted to a hike. Romantic, peaceful, surrounded by nature. Except there was a forest fire. A forest fire. Thankfully, part of the preserve was still open, and they found their trail. Justin started saying all the things — how much he loved her, how excited he was for their future, how lucky he felt. And then kids came screaming through. Bugs descended. The moment slipped away again.
But then — finally — a break in the chaos. He asked her for a kiss, she turned away, he took a knee, and when she turned back, there he was. Ring in hand. “Can I ask you a question?”Justin told me, “For all the insanity, and for all the replanning, my on the fly, improvised proposal ended up being perfect.”

Walking into Bradford Estate on their wedding morning, the energy was already warm and buzzing. Alicia and her wedding party were getting ready in the bridal suite — makeup, laughter, a few tears of the happy variety. It was the kind of getting-ready morning I love most: relaxed, joyful, and full of love.
Meanwhile, Justin and his wedding party got dressed across the hall in the groom’s suite. But as we all know, it usually takes our ladies more time to get ready and so Justin enjoyed some time hanging out with his best friends, playing pool.
Before the first look, Alicia and Justin shared something really beautiful — a first touch. Separated by a door, they read private vows to each other, their voices quiet and their words meant only for the two of them. I photographed Alicia’s hand reaching around the doorframe, fingers interlaced with Justin’s, and I will never stop loving that image. It was tender and raw and completely, entirely them.
Once those private vows were exchanged, it was time for the first look. I positioned Justin at the edge of Bradford Estate’s garden, back turned, waiting. I always love watching this moment unfold because no matter how many times I photograph it, the reaction is always different — always genuine.
When Alicia approached and Justin turned around, his face said everything words couldn’t. The garden provided the most gorgeous backdrop — lush greenery, soft natural light filtering through — and we had the most wonderful time wandering the property together for portraits. These two were naturals in front of the camera, which is no surprise given how comfortable they are with each other. Their chemistry was effortless and their joy was absolutely contagious.

One of the things Alicia and Justin were most intentional about when it came to their wedding was family. Many of their loved ones had traveled from other states to be there, and you could feel it. The ceremony in Bradford Estate’s garden was intimate and meaningful — surrounded by every person who mattered most, some of whom had flown across the country to be in those seats.
Watching them exchange their vows in front of their people, I thought back to that story about the hike, the forest fire, the kids, the bugs — all of it leading to this moment. It felt earned in the best possible way.

Let me take a moment to talk about the venue — because Bradford Estate truly is something special. Nestled in Hainsport, New Jersey, Bradford Estate is part of the Beau Truesdale Wedding Venues collection, and it is stunning. From the beautifully maintained garden ceremony space to the elegant ballroom, every corner of this property photographs beautifully. The private getting-ready suites are thoughtfully designed — intimate and bright, perfect for those quiet, emotional moments before the day kicks into full gear.
As a South Jersey photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of working at some truly beautiful venues, but Bradford Estate holds its own in the most wonderful way. The grounds are lush, the light is gorgeous, and the whole place just feels romantic. If you’re searching for Bradford Estate photos to get a sense of what your own wedding day might look like there, I hope this post gives you inspiration — because this venue delivers.

If the ceremony was the heart of the day, the reception was the soul — and Alicia and Justin brought every bit of their energy to that ballroom. These two came to celebrate, and their guests were fully on board. The dance floor was packed early and stayed that way. Family who had flown in from out of state were out there alongside local friends, and the whole room had this electric, joyful energy that I just love to photograph.
There’s something so special about a couple whose wedding priorities include genuinely partying with the people they love — not just going through the motions of a reception, but actually being present and having the time of their lives. Alicia and Justin were dancing, laughing, and soaking in every single second of it.

Fast forward to 6 weeks after Alicia & Justin’s wedding, and I was so excited to welcome them into the studio for their Wedding Reveal Party!
As Alicia wrote: “One of the most special moments came after the wedding during our Reveal Party. Gen welcomed us with champagne and played a gorgeous slideshow of our wedding day memories. She walked us through the photos she had curated for our album, and I was stunned to see that she had remembered every little detail we’d requested—some of which I had completely forgotten! We laughed and relived our wedding day all over again. With her help, we designed an album we’ll treasure forever and chose stunning wall art to display throughout our home.”
Hopefully seeing Bradford Estate Photos printed in a gorgeous heirloom album like Alicia & Justin’s give you inspiration for your own wedding images!

Alicia and Justin, thank you for letting me be part of your day. From a clown story on Hinge to a proposal that required more backup plans than a NASA mission, to a wedding surrounded by the people you love most — your story is one I’ll be telling for a long time. It was an absolute joy to document every laugh, every tear, and every moment in between.
And if you’re still searching for Bradford Estate photos to see what this magical venue looks like through a photographer’s lens — I hope this gives you a little peek into just how stunning a wedding day there can truly be.
Congratulations, Alicia & Justin. Here’s to a lifetime of perfectly imperfect adventures together. 🤍
