Deirdre & Patrick had a stunningly elegant College of Physicians of Philadelphia Wedding in late September. This venue, which is one of my favorites, brings together historic ambiance, stately architecture and individuality all in the heart of Philadelphia.

College Of Physicians of Philadelphia Wedding | Getting Ready

Deirdre & Pat chose the Art Deco inspired Kimpton Hotel Palomar to get ready at on their wedding morning. Not only is the hotel close to the College of Physicians and popular portrait locations around the city, it features beautiful and spacious rooms and a stunning elevator lobby preserved from the original historic architecture of the building.

The couple and their wedding party then boarded a trolly to Old City for an emotional first look, followed by portraits. If you’re planning a Philadelphia wedding, there are a few logistics to think through. First, make sure you have transportation lined up, and double travel time on your timeline to account for unexpected delays. Second, research whether photography permits are required for portrait locations and apply for them well in advance! Check out Phila.gov for more info.

College Of Physicians of Philadelphia Wedding | Ceremony

As we wrapped up portraits in Old City, the sky began to darken which unfortunately meant that Deirdre & Patrick’s ceremony couldn’t be held in the courtyard. Lucky for them, the back-up plan was equally as beautiful – to hold their ceremony in the stunning Catalog Room overlooking the city. The couple exchanged laughs and heartfelt “I dos” with their friends and family looking on.

As the threat of rain passed, guests enjoyed cocktails created by the talented team at Catering by Design in the courtyard, while also roaming the halls of the College of Physicians and the adjoining Mutter Museum. Then finally, it was time for the party to begin!

The doors of the opulent Mitchell Hall Ballroom opened to the sounds of the talented band Big Ric Rising, and guests welcomed Deirdre & Pat, along with their family and wedding party into the celebration with cheers. The dance floor rocked all night, and Patrick even serenaded Deirdre with a beautiful rendition of “My Girl” by The Temptations. It was a gorgeous night that Ill always remember.
