If you’re searching for a unique wedding venue in South Jersey that combines historic character with unparalleled personal service, you have got to check out Collingswood Grand Ballroom! Check out real Collingswood Grand Ballroom wedding photos below, along with advice for planning your wedding day at this stunning, historic venue!
Collingswood Grand Ballroom is an historic wedding venue in South New Jersey, and is actually a combination of three stunning spaces. First, there is the ballroom itself, decorated with rich cherry paneling, 1920s decor and a wrap-around balcony where guests can enjoy cocktails overlooking the ballroom floor. The ballroom also has enough space to hold up to 550 guests!
The ballroom adjoins the historic Hurley Mansion, which was built in 1850 and includes a stately front porch and gardens – which are perfect for portraits – as well as two large getting ready suites on separate floors. The mansion also includes an absolutely stunning, brightly lit sun porch which I love utilizing for getting ready & for portraits!
Finally, on the third floor resides the Scottish Rite Theater and Auditorium. If the theater doesn’t have a show scheduled during your wedding, be sure to ask whether you can sneak away to this unique spot during your reception for some epic portraits!
When you reserve the ballroom for your wedding, you’ll have access to the entire building up to 2 hours before your guests arrive to get ready. You’re also able to reserve additional time for a nominal hourly fee if you’re looking to extend your getting ready or portrait time at the venue before your ceremony – something I’d definitely recommend so you can have a stress-free day!
There are two getting ready suites at Collingswood Grand Ballroom. On the first floor of Hurley Mansion, you’ll have access to the large front living parlor and enclosed sun porch! Many brides use this beautiful, bright space to get ready but it’s totally up to you!
Upstairs, your fiance and their wedding party will have access to a second lounge area, complete with a pool table and piano!
When choosing a wedding venue, it’s always so important to love the indoor as well as the outdoor ceremony locations, in case of inclement weather. At Collingswood Grand Ballroom you have beautiful options for your wedding ceremony no matter the weather!
During the warmer seasons, you can have your ceremony outside (I’m looking forward to my first outdoor wedding ceremony at the ballroom in 2024!). Or choose to have your ceremony in the ballroom during the cooler months.
If you’re looking for variety in your wedding photos, you can’t beat the indoor and outdoor locations at Collingswood Grand Ballroom! Though this is far from an exhaustive list, here are a few of my favorite on-site spots for portraits.
This popular spot is great for couples, wedding party and family portraits and even for your first look if you’re having one. The added benefit is that the porch offers some cover in case of inclement weather. And the beautiful garden is just 2 steps away!
This unique, brightly lit space isn’t just great for getting ready! The even lighting from the 270-degree conservatory style windows also make it a beautiful spot for couples portraits or even your first look.
Just outside the first floor getting ready suite is an opulent 1920s style cherry paneled hallway and bay window seat. These spots can be taken advantage of for couples portraits during any part of your day with off-camera flash, and the natural light is particularly beautiful in mid-afternoon.
If you’re looking for a truly unique spot for dramatic couples’ portraits, ask whether you could have access to sneak away during your reception to the theater. One important note: access to the theater is dependent on there not being a performance on the day of your wedding, so it’s important to check first! But with permission the team at Collingswood Grand Ballroom is extremely accommodating!
Cocktails are usually held on the mezzanine balcony above the ballroom, where guests can sit or walk around and mingle. One of the more unique features of having your wedding here is that, before guests are invited into The Ballroom for dinner, the curtains surrounding the mezzanine will open and you’ll get to have your first dance on the main dance floor while guests look-on from above!
The spacious Grand Ballroom can accommodate up to 550 guests – making it one of the largest venues in the area!
The starting rental cost for The Ballroom is $3250, which includes a 5-hour reception and use of the grounds for up to 2 hours before your guests arrive. The Ballroom also offers several bar packages starting at $18 per person, and you will also have options to extend your time at the venue which I would highly recommend to take full advantage of all its beautiful spots for getting ready and portraits.
The venue partners with several excellent off-site caterers, who also provide event management on your wedding day. My couples love Summit Catering for their excellent food and service!
