Heartfelt Summer Estate at Eagle Lake Wedding | Anne & Kevin
When I first met Anne and Kevin, two things were clear. First, they love reading and wanted to incorporate that love into their summer Estate at Eagle Lake wedding. And secondly, their wedding was going to be all about their love of family and their closest friends.
Anne also shared that this is her second marriage, and she wanted to do her photography the right way! It’s no surprise that since that first meeting, I just couldn’t wait to document their story!!
The Estate at Eagle Lake | Chesterfield, NJ
The couple chose the beautiful Estate at Eagle Lake in Chesterfield New Jersey for their early summer wedding in May. Check out this post all about this beautiful venue and why it’s one of my favorites!! It was a perfect location for their family and friends to gather, as they had use of the entire estate grounds all day. Guests enjoyed strolling the summer gardens and sitting on the beach by the 6 acre natural lake.
A Relaxed Morning Getting Ready with Friends
Your wedding morning is the perfect time to relax and unwind with your wedding party. Anne and Kevin enjoyed hanging out with Kevin’s son & daughter, their Best Man and Maid of Honor, and Anne’s mom. They also invited their closest friends to join them in the bridal suite for drinks and laughs, then took time to practice their first dance before getting dressed. It was a perfect, laid back way to kick off their big day!
Summer Estate at Eagle Lake Wedding | Portraits in the Gardens
After getting ready together, Anne & Kevin joined their family in the lush Estate at Eagle Lake gardens for portraits. We planned ample time to document the couple with their parents and siblings in emotional and heartfelt portraits. We had so much fun laughing as we photographed the couple with Kevin’s son & daughter, who were serving in the roles of Best Man and Maid of Honor for their parents’ special day.
After family portraits, the couple strolled the expansive Estate at Eagle Lake grounds for portraits by the koi pond, on the deck and overlooking the lake. They even took a few moments for a private dance in the Estate chapel!
Summer Estate at Eagle Lake Wedding | A Lakeside Ceremony Officiated by Family
Anne & Kevin’s ceremony continued the theme of love, support and family. Anne planned to proudly walk herself down the aisle, then at the last moment beckoned Kevin to help her down the stairs to much laughter and applause. Flanked by both of their children, the couple were married by Anne’s brother, while Kevin’s siblings provided heartfelt readings.
Summer Estate at Eagle Lake Wedding | A Book Lovers’ Reception
After the touching lakeside ceremony, Anne & Kevin asked all of their guests to gather by Eagle Lake for a photo! Then guests enjoyed cocktails on the top deck before joining the couple in the tent for their reception. The tent was decked out with red roses and old books, and the couple even featured a table with their favorite books where guests could treat themselves to a copy!
After Anne slipped into red dancing shoes and an adorable short version of her wedding gown, the couple kicked-off the party with a rocking choreographed first dance! They even celebrated Anne’s mom’s birthday with cake, then wowed guests with a reverse garter toss where Anne took the garter off Kevin and tossed it into the crowd! It was such a fun and special night!
