Some weddings stay with me long after I pack up my camera bag, and Luke and Andrew’s Aldie Mansion Wedding was absolutely one of them. From the moment I arrived at Aldie Mansion in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, I could feel the warmth and intention poured into every minute of their day. It was an honor to document this chapter for two people who are so clearly, genuinely in love.
Aldie Mansion is one of those venues that simply takes your breath away. The beautifully preserved historic estate is steeped in character, with stunning architecture, lush grounds, and interiors that feel both grand and intimate at once. It was the perfect backdrop for a wedding as meaningful as this one — and as I’d soon discover, the setting meant something particularly special to one of the grooms. Andrew, a structural engineer with a deep appreciation for historic buildings, was genuinely thrilled to be surrounded by such remarkable craftsmanship. Seeing his eyes light up as we moved through the property during portraits was one of my favorite quiet moments of the day.

I always tell couples that getting ready together, when it feels right for them, creates some of the most natural and tender images of the whole day. Luke and Andrew’s morning was exactly that. The suite was dressed in festive holiday décor, and there was a quiet ease between them — laughter, deep breaths, and stolen glances — that set the tone for everything that followed.

Luke and Andrew’s story began the way so many modern love stories do — through a dating app — but it quickly became anything but ordinary. Their first date was at a beer bar in Philadelphia, and by the end of the night they shared their first kiss in Rittenhouse Square.
Their proposal was just as memorable. The two of them proposed to each other on a beach in Denmark, on the shores of the Baltic Sea, with white cliffs rising in the background. They captured a selfie right after, and honestly, I would love to see that photo— it sounds like a scene from a film.
When they aren’t planning weddings or traveling to Scandinavia, Luke and Andrew lead a wonderfully full life together. They hike with their dog Aggie, bike with friends, and play pickleball. Luke has been diving into gardening and quilting, while Andrew has found a creative outlet in pottery. They are the kind of couple who make you want to pick up a new hobby.

One of the most touching moments of the day came quietly, without any fanfare. Andrew’s mom approached me and asked if we could take some special family portraits with Luke, whose own family was unable to attend the wedding. It was such a generous and loving gesture, and it meant the world. Those portraits carry so much in them — a family choosing to expand, to embrace, to show up fully for one of their own. I will always be glad we made time for them.

In place of a traditional guestbook, Luke and Andrew invited their guests to sign a wishing stone and make a wish for the couple during the ceremony. It was such a thoughtful, personal touch. Rather than signatures on a page that gets set on a shelf, they now have a collection of stones, each one holding a wish from someone who loves them. I found myself thinking about the weight of that, in the best possible way.
The entire ceremony was infused with that same spirit of intention. You could feel how much thought Luke and Andrew had put into making the day a true reflection of who they are — as individuals and as a couple.

Luke and Andrew, thank you for welcoming me into your beautiful, meaningful day. It was a joy to witness your vows, photograph your portraits and feel the genuine love that filled every corner of Aldie Mansion. I hope these images bring you right back to that feeling, every time you look at them. Wishing you a lifetime of adventures with Aggie, good trails, great pottery, and all the pickleball your schedules allow.
